Long Island and New York City
Joel Rifkin murdered women in the New York metropolitan area during the late 1980s and early 1990s. He was convicted of nine murders and has admitted responsibility for additional killings.
The Arrest
Rifkin was arrested in 1993 after a traffic stop led police to discover a victim’s body in his vehicle.
Victim Count
As with many serial cases, the judicially proven count and the offender’s admissions are not identical. Jaded Evidence keeps convictions separate from unproven claims.
