Case details
At approximately 3:13 p.m. on October 12, 2026, Pocono Township police were dispatched to room 2030 at Great Wolf Lodge in Scotrun after a call concerning a distressed woman. Police identified the caller as Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, of Towanda.
Responding officers found Harrison injured. While checking the room, they found her husband, Charles Harrison, and the couple’s three-year-old son dead. Police opened a homicide investigation and charged Harrison with two counts of criminal homicide.
Court status
The official police notice states that Harrison would await arraignment before Magisterial District Judge Daniel Kresge. Subsequent complaint-based reporting says she was denied bail and remained in custody pending a preliminary hearing. No defense attorney was listed in the reviewed public docket reporting.
Allegations and evidence limits
Complaint-based reporting alleges that both victims suffered stab wounds and that knives were recovered from the room. Those allegations have not been adjudicated. The October 16 coroner update above supersedes the earlier absence of a reported cause and manner of death. Full autopsy documents, toxicology, complete 911 audio, defense pleadings and a verified motive remain unavailable in this file.
Harrison is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. A mental-health crisis or suicidal behavior does not by itself establish a criminal defense, legal insanity, diminished capacity, or incompetency to stand trial.
