Jaynie Crosdale & the Excelsior Springs Captivity Case
State of Missouri v. Timothy M. Haslett Jr. · Clay County Circuit Court
Trial Watch — continued to August 2027. KSHB reports the October 26, 2026 trial was continued after the October 9 pretrial conference because both sides need more discovery time. Haslett has pleaded not guilty and is presumed innocent.
A woman’s escape from an Excelsior Springs home in October 2022 led to a kidnapping and sexual-assault investigation. Authorities later charged Haslett with murdering Jaynie M. Crosdale. This file follows the two women’s cases, the evidence described by investigators and the pending prosecution.

Crosdale was 36 when authorities publicly sought her in January 2023 as a potential witness. Her last known address was in Kansas City. Her remains were subsequently identified after a barrel was recovered from the Missouri River.
