November 4, 2026 · Florida and Ohio · Verdicts & sentencing
Juries returned guilty verdicts Wednesday in two cases followed by Jaded Evidence: the Florida prosecution of Robert Kessler over Stephanie Crone-Overholts’ death and the Ohio prosecution of Andrew Griffin over the deaths of Thomas and Angela Strussion.
Kessler was sentenced to life imprisonment plus 15 consecutive years. Griffin’s sentencing is scheduled for December 1, 2026. The outcomes are different procedural stages: Kessler has been sentenced; Griffin is awaiting sentencing.
Robert Kessler: guilty of second-degree murder; life plus 15 years
A Hillsborough County jury found Robert Kessler guilty of second-degree murder with a weapon and abuse of a dead human body on November 4. Judge Nick Nazaretian imposed life imprisonment and an additional 15 years to run consecutively, according to WFLA’s verdict and sentencing report.
Kessler went to trial on a first-degree premeditated murder charge. The jury returned a verdict for the lesser offense of second-degree murder. The original charge and the offense of conviction should be identified separately. WTSP’s courtroom coverage confirms that distinction.
The case concerned the 2021 killing of Stephanie Crone-Overholts and the disposal of her remains in Tampa’s McKay Bay. Her mother, Susan George, addressed the court during the sentencing proceedings, WFLA reported.

Andrew Griffin: guilty verdicts; sentencing December 1
The Ohio Attorney General’s November 4 announcement confirms that Andrew Griffin was convicted of two counts of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated arson after a seven-day jury trial in Belmont County Common Pleas Court.
The prosecution concerned the September 21, 2021 deaths of Thomas and Angela Strussion at their Belmont County home. Prosecutors alleged that Griffin shot the couple and then set the house on fire. Griffin and Thomas Strussion had previously been restaurant business partners, according to the attorney general’s announcement.
Griffin’s sentencing is scheduled for December 1, 2026, in Belmont County Common Pleas Court. That is a future sentencing setting; this verdict update does not report a sentence for Griffin.
